Abstract:

Nowadays our cities require communal spaces more than anything else. squares have played a role of communal space in the city since long time ago. Presence of Iranian square with its own feature in Iranian cities is an inalienable necessity. We can search these features in the historical squares at the top of which Naghsh-e Jahan is. Discovering the ideological origins of Naghsh-e Jahan features can lead to the design principles of a governmental square. Different theories have been presented about why such a square was built. Some considered it as the rival of Atigh square in Isfahan and some noted it as evolution of the two former Safavid squares (in the former Safavid capitals, Tabriz and Qazvin). But the verity is something beyond these claims. A few articles and books have been published hitherto about the each of these monuments’ design. For example an article about some common features of the three Safavid squares has published. But Naghsh-e Jahan square is not only the evolution of the two former ones and it also has deep ideological origins. Research method of this paper is Interpretative- historical. This point of view interprets the resemblance of the monuments at the same culture. The existence of some features of Naghsh-e Jahan in Saheb-abad and Saadat squares confirmed their common ideological origins since historic, cultural, political and geographical link reduce the possibility of randomness in this resemblance. The time of construction of Sheikh Safi Al-din-e Ardebili’s shrine - who was the disciple of Safavid kings - was before Safavid squares. Naghsh-e Jahan was built on the order of Shah Abbas I. He had a great devotion to Sheikh and went to visit Sheikh’s shrine repeatedly. The comparison of the Shrine and the three Safavid squares lead to some common religious features. These common features was extracted from historical texts and tried to be closer to their original ones. The concepts and ideological origins could be understood by classification, analysis and study of the common features. The classified common features are as follows: 1. the location in the city2. The direction of the building and the location of Ivan3. Illumination and fireworks in the Iranian garden4. Bazzar, mosque and the Moharram rituals5. Display of military power6. Naghare-khane.7. Extent, proportions, geometry and the walls. The features with governmental origins and also a flavor of religion were obtained: The link between nation and government as a new Safavid feature, Ivan of the power in the west, The new bazaar and mosque in the competition with Atigh Bazaar and mosque and Performing Moharram rituals as a new Shiite feature in the square comparable to a great Tekkie. Ultra-human extent, display military power in the game of Polo and pride in military power with a flavor of religion. Features with religious origins and also a flavor of government were achieved: The direction of square in accordance with the movement of the sun, the presence of trees, water and fire as sacred elements of ancient culture of Iran, Naghare-khane. The proportion of 1 to 3 close to proportion of Khiaban as a new feature of Safavi, Geometry and symmetry and spatial hierarchy and enclosement. Contrary to presented theories, Naghsh-e Jahan had unique features in its time. Many of its features have been owned to the concept of power and religious thoughts. It pioneered Saheb-abad, Saadat and Atigh. All of the royalty and governmental elements were collected in this square. What was necessary to boast was displayed in this square. In general, the Safavid governmental squares signify the similar desire of a powerful government. This new desire has been established in this period of time and can be named as Safavid Bar-e aam (levee). In addition to the stabilization of the king power, the safavid square version relayed the link between the king and the nation. Naghsh-e Jahan could be used as a symbol of governmental square for the display of governmental authority. Although after that time a square such as Naghsh-e Jahan didn’t build and Tupkhane squares prevailed, it is possible to consider the Tehran Baharestan square as an updated case of governmental square that could have signs of Naghsh-e jahan with the flavor of Islam and nation.

Abstract:

In the poem of Keifar, by using rhetorical devices, Shamlou has described and highlighted other defects and fixed these defects from himself. Among these cases, we can point out the secondary purpose of the textual coherence being an indefinite, which is made indefinite in order to humiliate and show the importance of the indefinite, thus highlighting the flaws and negative characteristics of the other, and one of the characters The killer portrays himself in the narrative. In the description of another murder, he even describes the character of the victim with the ironic phrase "round teeth" in order to highlight the flaws of one of the secondary characters in the narrative, and in this way, he projects and absolves himself of those flaws. The poet introduces the dream of other prisoners as a place of killing and terror and compares his dream to a mountain in order to eliminate the negative characteristics and defects that he puts forward about others and emphasize it. By using rhetorical devices and using Sanate Estekhdaam, the poet intends to use the word "hated" to have two meanings, so that this word in connection with the soil also evokes the meaning of the devourer. Extended Abstract 1-Introduction Van Dijk is one of the influential figures in the field of critical discourse analysis. Van Dijk emphasized the role of cognition, communication and social interactions in the critical analysis of the discourse. In Van Dijk's approach, which is known as socio-cognitive approach, it has three concepts: discourse, knowledge and community. Van Dijk's discourse here means the general meaning of a communication event. Among them are dialogue interaction, written text, body movements, head and hands, page design, images and semiotic aspects. What he means by cognition is: individual, social cognition, beliefs, goals, as well as evaluations and feelings, or all structures, representations and ideas related to mind and memory that are related to discourse and interaction (Van Dijk, 2001: 98). Van Dijk sees ideology as a basis for common social representations in a specific group, in other words, in Van Dijk's view, ideologies are inherently social. In Van Dijk's view, by emphasizing our positive points and their negative points and downplaying our bad points and their good points, it is possible to enter people's thinking system and gradually bring about changes in it (Van Dijk, 2003:359). Van Dijk formed a mental quadrilateral in the form of four principles and called it an ideological square. He names these four principles as follows: 1. Emphasize the positive points about us. 2. Downplay our negative points. 3. Emphasize the negative points about them. 3. Downplay their positive points (Van Dijk, 2003: 44). Considering that it has been suspected before, because Shamlou was in the prison of ordinary prisoners, then it is natural that he describes other prisoners by attributing negative characteristics and emphasizing it, but the point is that when he is completely in the same type it deals with characteristics and sees people in an absolute form, one color, it goes back to the issue that Shamlou starts to choose about those people and only expresses their negative characteristics. This research, while changing our previous perceptions, aims to explain and interpret Shalom's methods for inducing the concept of negativity about others. The questions that will be answered in this research are: 1. What rhetorical techniques does Shamlou rely on to speak negatively about others? 2. Does Ahmad Shamlou choose to describe the existing facts in order to absolve himself of the negative characteristics of others? 3. In selecting words, which methods does Shamlou use to express the negative characteristics of others in his poem? 2-Research Methodology In this research, the four pillars of Van Dijk's ideological square are discussed with the analytical-descriptive method and relying on three methods of negation, namely, rhetorical devices, lexical selection, and excess in sentence syntax, and under each of the devices in question, the pillars of the ideological square are analyzed and examined. It is possible, of course, it should be kept in mind that by examining the factors that lead to negation, we should not confuse the implicit author with the real author. In other words, in this poem, there is a literary character, who, in the context of the poem, deals with negativity about others and mentions positive qualities in himself. Although the influence of the real author on the implied author cannot be ignored. "The concept of the implicit author or the mentality governing the entire work, shows us well Foucault's understanding of the interdiscourse of the author; Because the implied author is the source of the existing norms in the narrative work" (Peyghambarzadeh et al., 1396: 110) and this poem by Shamlou is also a narration of a part of the socio-political context. In fact, the real author is a part of the implied author, not all of it and vice versa. 3-Discussion Among the rhetorical factors that Shamlou has used to speak negatively about others is the use of semantics, analogy, irony, and the art of hiring. The sentences of this poem are long and descriptive. In other words, one of the rhetorical aspects related to the syntax of sentences is the characteristic of ropes in images. One of the aesthetic reasons for the length of the sentences in this poem can be in line with the truthfulness of the events, in such a way that the accurate description and atmospheres of that event are presented to the audience. In other words, in this poem, Shamlou shows instead of talking and relies on long sentences to show this. By using two types of words and combinations, the poet has expressed and described the negative characteristics of others, removed the negative characteristics from himself and expressed the positive characteristics about himself. In the words and combinations of the first type, the poet has used context and context to express the ideological square elements. For example, the word "dark" in the phrase "One of these Zanjirians killed his wife with a dagger in the dark fever of slander" (Shamlou, 2017: 333). The words of the second type are those words and compounds that are not related to the context, but are directly related to the negative action performed. 4-Conclusion In the poem of Keifar, by using rhetorical devices, Shamlou has described and highlighted other defects and fixed these defects from himself. In this poem, the narrator describes and portrays all other characters by attributing attributes that have a negative value. Among the poet's other measures in choosing words is to use two different categories of words. In the first category, words and combinations are used to prepare the ground for describing, depicting and highlighting the faults of others. The second category are words and compounds that are directly and indirectly related to the action performed, such as theft or murder, which have a negative value, in order to eliminate positive characteristics about others and negative characteristics about oneself. The narrator has also tried to implicitly attribute what contains negative points to others by making mistakes in the syntax such as changing the axis of word substitution, avoiding the norm and moving in the syntax of the sentences. 5-References Ahmadi, B. Abstract:

Introduction: The novel Selouch Vacancy is one of the prominent works of Mahmoud Dolatabad in which the author depicts the problems of the rural society of the Pahlavi era with an eloquent expression. Using his critical expression in a confrontational way, the writer highlights negative traits of "others" (classes of rulers and landowners) and positive features of "us" (poor people), and showed negative traits of "us" and positive traits of "others" non-significant, and these four pillars are the basic axes of Van Dijk's theory. The purpose of this research is to analyze the socio-political views of Daulatabadi based on a theoretical base in order to better understand and know their instances. At the same time, the author's methods and techniques of expression are also mentioned. Many articles have been written in the field of analysis of the novel " the Vacancy of Seluch" from which we can refer to the article "Comparative Analysis of Seluch Vacancy by Mahmoud Dolatabadi and Marun Abboud's short stories from the viewpoint of regional literature" " (1393), by Mohammad Khaqani Isfahani and Hassan Najafi which compares regional, social, and cultural characteristics in two stories. The article "Investigation and Analysis of Silence in Literary Discourse with the Semiotic-Semantic Approach of a Case Study: 'Kolidar' and 'Vacancy of Seluch' by Mahmoud Dolatabadi" (1398) by Mina Alaei and Ali Abbasi, which examines the tense function of discourse and its role in examining silence. The article "The link between the audience and the text in the polyphonic creation in the Novel 'Vacancy of Seluch' "(1395), By Zulfiqar Allami and Zahra Azimirad, which deals with the relationship between the audience, the text, the author and the compound dialogues in the novel. The article "Analysis of the element of incident in Daulatabadi's Novel "Vacancy of Seluch"(1388) By Tahereh Khushal Dastjardi and Milad Shamei in which she has examined all kinds of incidents in the novel, categorizes incidents into different sections, and for each of these types, gives examples of the story. The article "Analysis of the post-colonial Appearances in 'Vacancy of Seluch'" (1394) By Saeed Hajti and Ahmad Razi in which they examine the components of post-colonial criticism in the novel, state the main topics of this criticism, and compare it with the story. However, so far, no independent research has been done about the novel "Vacancy of Seluch" from the perspective of Van Dijk's ideological square. The authors are trying to criticize and analyze this novel by looking at the type of expression and the author's point of view towards the situation of the society of the time and relying on the function of the theory of critical discourse analysis Based on Van Dijk's ideological square. This research answers the following questions: Has the author used critical discourse to express the issues of the society and the ideology that governs the society in the novel "Vacancy of Seluch"? How does the author use critical discourse analysis? And what topics has he discussed? Are the pillars of Van Dijk's ideological square used in this novel to form the structure of critical discourse? The method of this research is a descriptive-analytical and library method,In fact, discourse analysis seeks to discover the relationships in the text, because the author has tried to express her complaint about the existing conditions by using critical discourse. This method of analysis in the approach of literary criticism is more related to structuralism, formalism and hermeneutics, because in the methods of hermeneutic criticism and post-structuralism, they pay attention to the context of the text and its situational context to discover the meaning. No discourse expresses all the truth and they must be analyzed to reach the truth. Layered stylistics examines and analyzes texts at different grammatical, lexical, rhetorical, etc. levels (Fotuhi, 1391: 237). Based on Van Dijk's ideological square theory, this work can be examined at the three mentioned levels. In fact, by focusing on "our positive points" and "the negative points of others" and downplaying the negative traits of "us" and the positive points of "others", it is possible to identify and analyze the elements of the text. Also, by using this structure, the author penetrates people's minds and changes their thoughts. As a result, critical discourse analysis causes the unconscious awakening of defeated people against modernity. (Ghiyathian, 1386: 207 and 208) It is in this situation that the analysis of texts based on the theory of critical discourse analysis becomes important. The purpose of using it, is to reveal the hidden power relations, unravel the ideologies in the text and specify the meanings. The story of "Vacancy of Seluch" is the story of the poverty of the family and the people of the society who are faced with modernity. In most of this story, what the author expresses is the oppression that has been perpetrated against them by the lords, the chieftains, the stewards, and the small owners. People like: Kodkhoda Nowruz, Karbalai Dushanbeh, Mirza Hasan Khan, Ali Genav, Zabihullah, etc. are representatives of cruel and oppressive people. This section of the society with their selfishness and self-interest oppresses the people and takes "God's land" from them to carry out land reforms. The government also supports them and supports this oppression, and because of these events, the people of the village are forced to migrate. The aim of the authors of this research is to provide a new interpretation of this story, using Van Dijk's ideological square approach,a description that shows how the oppression of the powerful hurts the poor and inferior people and forces them to migrate. Among the results of the present research is that Doulatabadi, with a critical statement, seeks to reform the society in which the oppressed people have failed against the modernists. By expressing the positive and negative characteristics of us and others, he expresses his criticisms towards the oppressed society of his age, and he has benefited from lexical, syntactic and rhetorical tricks. This article talks about the negative characteristics of others such as trickery and cunning, theft, selfishness, lust, condescension, etc., and about the positive qualities of "self" such as courage, harmlessness, hard work, loyalty, zeal, independence, respectability, etc. Basically, the author rarely mentions the positive qualities of others and our negative qualities, however, qualities such as: cleverness, wisdom, foresight, compassion, religiousness (for others) and irresponsibility, selfishness, bullying, rudeness and arrogance and (for us) can be extracted from the side of the story.

Abstract:

Nakhlhaye Bisar is counted as one of the first novels in the field of Resistance that has been written on the basis of the time and space of war. One of the most critical areas to be studied in this work is how to reflect the characteristics of the prevailing ideas. This paper seeks to extract the discourses in the work by re-reading this novel in the form of Fairclough critical approach and Van Dijk's ideological square in a descriptive-analytical manner.Furthermore, the study is to answer the question of whether the discourse that governs the space of the story serves to preserve or weaken the relations of ideological power. The findings of this study indicate that the author of “Nakhlhaye Bisar,” has tried to represent the components of the ideological traditionalist discourse that was the dominant discourse in the 60's via integrating the ideological functions of language. This way, Frust, in addition to legitimizing the dominant semantic system and rejecting competing discourses, has also assisted stabilizing the existing power relations in the layers of the social structure

analyzing religious texts based on new theories causes the dynamism of those texts and their deeper. One of the new theories that came up in the 20th is van Dijk's ideological square theory in the field of critical speech analysis. van Dijk, who is one of the prominent theorists of speech analysis, presents his ideological square theory for speech analysis; His ideological squad has four sides, which emphasizes on signalization the positive features of oneself, the negative characteristics of the other, and paling out the negative characteristics of the self, the positive characteristics of the other. Considering the high potential of this theory, the present research intends to examine the 108th sermon of Nahj al-Balagha, which is considered as one of the war sermons, with a qualitative approach and critical speech analysis method based on van Dijk’s ideological squad and tries to find out the imam's hidden ideology through it. Imam Ali could be found in the lower layers of the mentioned text. It is inferred that all the efforts of the speaker about signalization and marginalization are along with the realization of this hidden ideology that he and the Prophet are the truth and their government is also a symbol of righteousness and the rule, while Bani Umayyah is false, and their leadership is also a symbol of injustice and falsehood. In the meantime, the Kufians have also joined the false group by weakness, which should be informed and saved from joining into the false front and absolute blackness.

IT IS SAID THAT VAN DIJK, WODAK, FAIRCLOUGH, AND FOUCAULT ARE FORERUNNERS IN CRITICAL DISCOURSE ANALYSIS (CDA). IN RECENT YEARS, CDA AS A MODERN ASPECT OF DISCOURSE ANALYSIS HAS FOUND A SPECIAL PLACE IN LITERATURE. SUCH AN ANALYSIS REVEALS UNFAIRNESS AND DISTINCTION IN THE SOCIETY, AND SIMILARLY, IT ENCOURAGES SCHOLARS TO REFLECT ON THE ACCOUNTABILITY OF LITERATURE ON ILLUMINATING THE ISSUES AND COMPLEXITIES OF THE SOCIETY. THIS PAPER IS AN ANALYSIS OF THE STORY OF "SAADI'S DEBATE" FROM GOLESTAN ON THE BASIS OF VAN DIJK'S ideological square. ACCORDINGLY, MERITS AND DEMERITS OF THREE GROUPS OF DERVISH, RICH, AND JUDGE IN THIS STORY ARE EXPLORED. IN FACT, THE PURPOSE OF THE PRESENT STUDY IS TO REVEAL SAADI'S ACUITY AND PRECISION IN RELATION TO THE ISSUES OF THE SOCIETY AND HIS PRUDENCE IN THIS REGARD.

Abstract:

Fereidon Tavallalli was one of the early enthusiasts of Nima Yooshij's innovations in Persian poetry. Tavallali was known as a semi-traditional Romantic poet in contemporary Persian poetry. In addition to his continuous political and social activities, he, as a poet and critic, sought to elaborate and explain his preferred type of poetry. Moreover, some of his poetry collections were accompanied by his introductions and notes. Tavallali's extended introduction to his Raha poetry collection was kind of the Romantic poets’ manifesto in which he acknowledged and defended new poetry and criticized old-fashioned poets and literary associations of that period. In his Raha collection, one can observe political and social poems besides the romantic verses. In the same collection, the poem: Fardaye Enghelab (The Tomorrow of Revolution) is the most famous. The present study's main goal is to examine Fardaye Enghelab according to the ideological square method and analyze the measures taken by the Tudeh-Party-affiliated poet to advance his party goals. The findings of the current study indicated that the poet mostly focused on reinforcing his strength and undermining others’ strong points. Also, he paid scant attention to his weak points and those of others. Moreover, according to this study’s findings, one can extend the four sides of the ideological square method by adding another two sides, that is, the political and social behavior of the poet in describing self and non-self forces under the six sides, thereby improving the ideological square method.

Abstract:

Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) is one of the new trends in linguistic studies that examines language with a social function and implies the reproduction of social and political hegemony in the context of the text. The editorials of Abdulbari Atwan, a contemporary Palestinian journalist (1950), are one of the manifestations of the resistance discourse, which is dedicated to his protest and revelations against the Zionist regime and the arrogance front, and he tried to represent the ideologies of the fighting nations and their resistance at different linguistic levels. Theon Van Dijk (1998), one of the prominent theorists in the field of critical discourse analysis, emphasized that the speaker's worldview (ideology) can be represented in language; It expresses the theory of ideological square to analyze the linguistic dimensions of a text in macro construction. The current research aims to investigate the media discourse of Abdul Bari Atwan in the framework of Van Dyke's socio-cognitive model (1943) with descriptive-analytical method. The findings of the research show that Atwan's media discourse is a social action against the political-social situation of occupied Palestine and West Asian issues. The dominant ideology in Atvan's editorials is the ideology of resistance, which is established by being included in the media discourse. The final function of Atvan's verbal statements is to emphasize the positive points of the self (front of resistance) in opposition to other negative points (front of arrogance) and this is in line with the general strategy of producing Van Dyck's social-cognitive discourse method; Therefore, the approach of critical discourse analysis is the most specific linguistic tool to investigate the discourse of resistance

Abstract:
